Taking of photographs/video:

Please note that at various times we may record different sessional activities photographically. This may or
may not include your child.
Any photos taken are stored in albums and kept securely at the pre-school. They may be used during Ofsted
inspections as evidence of your child’s progress through the previous year at Little Nipperz.
At times other educational and health professional personnel may see these photos or take others for their
records.
Video may also be used for these purposes.
It is our duty to ask your permission before any such photographs/video are taken.
Accordingly we ask that you sign the permission slip attached and return it to Little Nipperz.

Sharing of information with outside professionals:

On occasions we have visits from outside agencies for example: Health visitors, Special educational needs
officers, speech and language development therapists etc.
In order to support your child’s development and welfare during their time at the setting, it is sometimes
necessary to share information regarding any perceived concerns about your child. This will allow us to
provide the best care and support possible for your child.
Accordingly we ask that you sign the permission slip attached and return it to Little Nipperz.

Out of School Visits:

On occasions we may wish to take your child out of the premises and partake in visits. This may include shops
and places of interest.
These trips are of course dependent on the weather on the day and may be spontaneous.
During such trips it is the pre-schools policy to have a minimum staff ratio of 1 adult to 2 children at all times.
During the after school and holiday club the ratio will be calculated dependent on age and range of the
children.
On group outings parents will be given as much notice as possible and the opportunity to alter any
arrangements if they so desire.
Accordingly we ask that you sign the permission slip attached and return it to Little Nipperz.

Emergency Medical Attention:

I give my permission for my child

To be given medical treatment as required by a qualified medical practitioner in the case of an emergency if I
am not able to be present at the time it is needed.
The member of staff at Little Nipperz, who will be accompanying my child, has my consent to give this
permission slip to the relevant person.

Consent Forms

Can you please read and sign the following consent forms:

I give / I do not give permission for my child to be photographed/videoed during the sessions for the purpose of educational or health records. I understand that these photographs/videos are kept securely within the pre-schools possession and that any taken by other professional bodies will be kept under their security.
I give / I do not give Little Nipperz permission to contact and share information regarding any concerns about my child’s development with outside professionals. I understand that this may be necessary to support his/her development during their time at the setting and that all information will be shared with strictest confidence.
I give / I do not give permission for my child to be taken out of the premises on occasion, subject to the conditions and undertakings of the Out of school visits policy detailed above.
I give / I do not give Little Nipperz permission permission to apply sun cream to my child, this will be supplied by myself or from Little Nipperz stock, which will be a factor 50 leading brand. My child has no known allergies to any sun cream brand. If there is any type that cannot be used then please state below:
I give / I do not give Little Nipperz the permission to use plasters on my child should they need them, they will be hypoallergenic plasters.
I give / I do not give permission for my child to watch DVDs that are graded PG or below during the breakfast, afterschool sessions and holiday club. I trust in the good judgment of the setting that the content will always be appropriate.

Dear Parents,
At Little Nipperz we create individual ‘learning journeys’ for your child through a piece of educational software called ‘Tapestry’. By logging on with a secure username and password you will be able to view all your children’s observations, photographs and even video from their time at Little Nipperz. You will even receive an email telling you when a new observation or piece of work is available for you to view. This will enable you to follow your child’s individual progress closely and you can reflect upon their achievements with your child. You can add comments so that we as a staff find out about which activities your child really enjoyed and the learning they get up to at home. Staff will reference your child’s learning to the EYFS profile so you will know which area of learning your child is achieving in. All this information is stored on a highly secure server which is monitored closely. E-safety is extremely important to us at Little Nipperz; therefore, we ask you to provide us with the following information and to sign the agreement and other information overleaf to show that you understand and will agree with our guidelines. Please return it to us with your starter pack.
We know how much you like to see your child coming home from us proudly clutching their most recent piece of work. Therefore, we will photograph the pieces of work we need to keep as evidence and then it will come home with your child. If viewing the profile online is difficult for you at home, then we are happy to share this with you at the setting, if you speak to your child’s keyworker, then we can arrange a convenient time for you. Each child will receive the whole learning journey as they leave Little Nipperz, which can be printed out or copied onto a USB.
We are sure that you will love this new way of viewing your child’s achievements as much as we do! At times other children may appear in your child’s leaning journey or your child may appear on others as we try to capture natural leaning experiences, if you are not happy with this then please inform as soon as possible and we can adjust your child’s profile.

Agreed guidelines for accessing and using Tapestry ‘Online Learning Journeys’

These terms must be adhered to at all times.

As a parent I will…

Not publish any of my child’s observations, photographs, or videos on any social media site. Only access Tapestry with my own login and password, which I will keep secret. Speak to a member of staff if I experience any difficulties accessing my child’s learning journey at the earliest opportunity.

Not post inappropriate and/or offensive materials, including photographs or videos. I understand that failure to adhere to these procedures will result in the termination of my Tapestry account. I understand that all the observations I upload are stored permanently on a highly secure server, which is monitored closely.
